They go great with any sauce from old fashioned BBQ sauce, to my personal favorite, ranch. Similarly, homemade lasagna is another dish that can appeal to both kids and adults.

Homemade Chicken Nuggets: No Need for McDonald's Money

Every millennial who grew up in the 90's remembers this. You're with your family driving back from Six Flags and you're hungry. You ask your parents for McDonald's for dinner and their response was either one of two things:

"We've got McDonald's at home"

or

"You got McDonald's money"?

Fun times! Well thanks to this recipe, you will have McDonald's at home, but better! These nuggets have crunch, juiciness, flavor, and more! And if you're looking for a comforting meal, homemade lasagna could be your next go-to. Try these homemade chicken nuggets, they really are worth it!

The flavor- These nuggets are seasoned to perfection! With every bite, you get hints of garlic and onion with just a slight kick of spice, much like you might experience with your homemade lasagna.
The moistmaker- While it's not an actual phrase (credit to Friends for the tagline), the secret to these nuggets lie within the mix. I take King's Hawaiian slider rolls and soak them in milk for a bit. Add that broken mixture to your nuggets and you'll get a perfectly juicy nugget every time!
Kid friendly- As a parent with a semi-picky eater, these nuggets are child approved! Plus with no preservatives or additives, they make a healthier option for your kiddos. Make these homemade chicken nuggets and everyone will be happy.

Ground chicken
King's Hawaiian Slider Rolls
Club Soda- Helps to get those nuggets crispy
Milk
Egg
Seasonings (i.e., garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper)

Best Practices/Tips

Once you shape your nuggets, place them in the freezer for a couple of hours. This will allow the nuggets to firm and retain their shape while frying. You can do the same prep technique for your homemade lasagna noodles if you're making them from scratch, just like your homemade chicken nuggets.
Double frying is the best way to get those nuggets nice and crispy. You can single fry them if you'd like, but the double fry will give you an unmatchable crunch.

The iconic McDonalds Chicken McNuggets now available to make at home. With this easy to follow and easy to make recipe, you'll be lovin' it from the first bite to the last crunch!

Ingredients

2 packs ground chicken
1 tbsp kosher salt
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp chipotle powder
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp chicken bouillon
2 slices Kings Hawaiian bread, soaked in milk
2 c all purpose flour
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp baking powder
1 egg
1 bottle club soda
Oil for frying

Instructions

Divide your seasonings into two separate bowls.

In a large bowl, add the chicken, the milk soaked bread, and half of the seasonings.

Mix until well combined.

In a separate bowl, add 1 cup of flour, cornstarch, and baking powder.

Take about a tablespoon of your nugget mixture and add it to the flour, cornstarch, baking powder combo.

Form your nuggets into shapes and do this until all of your nuggets are formed.

Place your nuggets separated from one another on a parchment lined baking sheet into the freezer for 1-2 hours.

In a large pot, add your cooking oil and heat to 325 degrees.

In a large bowl, add remaining flour, seasonings, egg, hot sauce, and stir in your club soda until you form a batter that’s not too thick and not too thin.

Dunk the nuggets into the batter and straight into your oil.

Fry 2-3 minutes until it’s somewhat light and remove. Do this in batches.

Once the first batches are done, crank the heat to 350.

Add the nuggets back and fry until golden brown and crispy.
