Authentic Maryland crab dip is the perfect dip for parties and large gathering. Made with ingredients such as fresh lump crab, sharp cheddar, and cream cheese, it’s absolutely delicious. Check out how to make this authentic Maryland crab dip below!

A dip for the ultimate seafood lover

If there’s one thing that the DMV is known for, it’s seafood! Everything from buttery lobster rolls to buckets of well seasoned crab with Old Bay, you name it! This hot and cheesy authentic Maryland crab dip gets the party started! Sunday football games are made special when I bring this amazing appetizer to gameday parties. It pairs well with pita chips, tortilla chips, or my personal favorite, freshly cut baguettes.

  • If you grew up in Maryland, authentic Maryland crab dip was definitely a staple of football Sundays. Restaurants to this day serve it with warm soft pretzels. Making this dish at home will give you that nostalgic cheesy flavor in minutes.
  • Smooth and creamy– Because of the soft cream cheese and sharp cheddar, this dip literally melts in your mouth. You won’t find another dip quite like it!

  • Jumbo lump crab
  • Cream cheese
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Old Bay Seasoning (This is a MUST for this recipe! In fact, it’s used in pretty much most dishes from the DMV).

  • Even though you should get your cream cheese to room temperature, I’d recommend beating it in a stand mixer or a hand mixer first. It will help to get it to the smoothest possible consistency for your authentic Maryland crab dip.
  • Fold in the lump crab into the mixture as opposed to mixing it in. This will prevent the crab from breaking into pieces as it is very delicate.
