Salmon bowls that are healthy, high protein, and delicious
Sometimes you want a meal that’s high in protein and packed full of flavor. I make a lot of recipes and quite honestly, I tend to gravitate towards more healthier options these days. Not to say that I don’t like to indulge in moderation, but this is the kind of dish I eat on a regular basis.
- Fresh salmon- I get fresh salmon from my local farmer’s market, so I’d highly recommend either getting yours from a farmer’s market or the seafood counter at your local supermarket.
- Teriyaki Sauce- The sauce gives the salmon a sweet and tangy taste.
- Fresh Ingredients- In addition to the beautifully diced salmon, you get some amazing flavor from the fresh vegetables added! The scallions add a nice acidic touch, the creaminess from the avocado, and the crunch from the shredded carrot make this the perfect dish.
- Salmon– I recommend fresh salmon filets but if you only have access to packaged salmon, by all means!
- Teriyaki Sauce– I personally recommend low sodium teriyaki sauce as the seasonings added have natural salt to them.
- Fresh Vegetables– Add whatever vegetables you deem appropriate. You can add diced cucumber, tomatoes, shaved carrots, whatever you’d like!

- Remove the skin from the salmon prior to cubing it. Some people discard the skin, others fry it up for crispy salmon chips.
- Salmon can easily be overcooked and the last thing we want is a dry salmon. Visually, you can tell if the salmon is done when it changes from a translucent reddish color to an opaque pink
- I usually cook down my teriyaki sauce in the pan to slightly reduce it. When you add the salmon inside the sauce, it will continue the cooking process. Keep that in mind to avoid overcooking it.
